Our Services

At PrimeKids Therapy, we develop individualized therapy programs for kids and their families. Our in-home pediatric therapy services allow children to practice real-life skills in their natural environment. If you believe your child could benefit from our services, the process to enroll and get started is simple and straightforward.

Occupational Therapy (OT)

Our occupational therapy services are designed to help children develop the skills they need for everyday life. This can include improving their ability to perform basic tasks, participate in school, and interact with their environment. We focus on:

  • Fine Motor Skills: Helping children develop precise movements, such as grasping small objects, using scissors, or buttoning clothes.
  • Sensory Processing and Regulation: Assisting children who may be over- or under-responsive to sensory stimuli (such as sound, touch, or movement), helping them learn to regulate and respond appropriately to their environment.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Improving coordination for activities such as handwriting, playing sports, and using utensils.
  • Self-Care Skills: Teaching children to become more independent in activities like dressing, feeding, bathing, and toileting.
  • Feeding Therapy: Addressing challenges related to feeding, such as food avoidance, picky eating, and sensory intolerance to food textures (e.g., children who only eat solid foods but avoid wet or mixed textures).
  • Social Participation: Supporting the development of appropriate social skills and peer interactions in various settings, such as school or at play.
  • Executive Functioning: Strengthening attention, memory, organization, and problem-solving skills to help children complete tasks and make decisions.
  • Feeding and Swallowing Therapy: Addressing challenges related to feeding and swallowing, such as difficulty chewing or swallowing safely, as well as issues like food aversion, to improve a child’s nutritional intake and mealtime experiences.
  • Support for IDD and Learning Disorders: Our therapists help children with intellectual and developmental disabilities improve daily life skills, attention, and independence, while addressing challenges specific to learning disorders, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other academic difficulties.

Physical Therapy (PT)

Physical therapy focuses on improving a child’s strength, movement, balance, and coordination to enhance their physical capabilities and participation in daily activities.

Our physical therapists work on:

  • Gross Motor Skills: Developing large muscle movements, such as crawling, walking, running, and jumping, which are crucial for mobility.
  • Balance and Coordination: Helping children improve their stability and coordination to prevent falls and injuries and increase participation in play and physical activities.
  • Strength and Endurance: Building muscle strength and cardiovascular endurance to support overall physical health and stamina for activities like sports or daily tasks.
  • Posture and Alignment: Addressing musculoskeletal imbalances that affect a child’s posture, which can impact their ability to sit, stand, and move comfortably.
  • Mobility and Gait Training: Assisting children with gait abnormalities (such as toe walking) or other movement difficulties to improve their walking patterns and overall mobility.
  • Toe Walking: Providing interventions for children who walk on their tippy toes, working to improve proper foot placement and gait patterns.
  • Orthotic Recommendations and Fitting: Providing guidance on the use of braces, splints, or other devices to support proper movement and alignment.

Speech Therapy (ST)

Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) focus on improving communication, feeding, and swallowing skills in children. These skills are crucial for a child’s ability to express themselves and engage with others. We address:

We Address:

  • Speech Sound Production: Helping children articulate sounds correctly to improve speech clarity and reduce frustration.
  • Language Development: Supporting the development of vocabulary, sentence structure, and comprehension, enabling children to express their thoughts and understand others.
  • Social Communication: Teaching children how to use language appropriately in social situations, including conversational skills, taking turns, and understanding non-verbal cues like facial expressions and body language.
  • Feeding Therapy: Assisting children with feeding difficulties, picky eating, food aversion, and sensory intolerance to different food textures (e.g., only eating solid foods and avoiding wet or mixed textures), to improve their nutritional intake and make mealtimes more enjoyable.
  • Fluency: Working with children who stutter to develop more fluent speech patterns.
  • Voice Therapy: Addressing issues related to vocal quality, such as hoarseness or breathiness, which can impact a child’s ability to communicate effectively.

Language and Communication Support for IDD and Pediatric Mental Health: Our therapists help children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health disorders improve their ability to communicate, understand language, and navigate social interactions.
